Afterthoughts

You know after 48hours of straight work there’s a momentum that hangs around. It feels good to see something we’ve made being enjoyed by others. As our first game we didn’t really know what to expect but this was pretty great. Having a solid idea 3 hours after the start of the jam felt essential to having a working product. With designs, narrative and mechanics all figured out every design decision felt natural, all that was left was to learn how to build it.

Another major advantage was working in the same room and being able to brainstorm together at any moment. Being a team of only two, we used our seamless communication to push our ideas to their limits and stretch them even further. Organisation was all done in Notion using simple to-do boards with priority tags.

Honestly we’re not sure how we could have done this jam better… The only thing lacking was time. Wish we had an extra day to polish things up ~ and upload a working game :’) (In actuality we could’ve uploaded a broken game earlier and tested the upload, but that hurt our souls…)

For our next jam we’re ready. We’ve figured out exporting using Godot (Game engine) and our pixel-art style is on point using Aseprite, so get ready folks.

Even with the constant stress for two days in a row, we loved every moment. Keen for the next jam. xux
